PERRYVILLE -- Vallie J. "Pete" Wood, 83, of Perryville died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at Perry Oaks Nursing Center. He was born Dec. 3, 1913, in Perryville, son of Prince Edward and Mary Marcella Richardet Wood. He and Vera L. Seabaugh were married May 22, 1933. She died Oct. 8, 1989...

PERRYVILLE -- Vallie J. "Pete" Wood, 83, of Perryville died Sunday, April 13, 1997, at Perry Oaks Nursing Center.

He was born Dec. 3, 1913, in Perryville, son of Prince Edward and Mary Marcella Richardet Wood. He and Vera L. Seabaugh were married May 22, 1933. She died Oct. 8, 1989.

Wood had been a car salesman with Lawrence-Moore dealership in Perryville. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, and former American Legion booster.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Vinson; three brothers, Harry, Dennis and Melvin "Mo" Wood; two sisters, Nellie Gibbar and Ollie Streiler, all of Perryville; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-great-stepgrandchild.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:30-9:50 a.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
