SIKESTON -- Ulys "Mutt" Lane, 70, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, in Cape Girardeau from injuries in an automobile accident.
He was born Nov. 22, 1926, at Charleston, the son of George and Agnes Dover Lane.
He was a member of the Tanner Street Church of God, was a business agent with Pipefitters Local 562, and served in the 101 Airborne during World War II.
On Nov. 21, 1945, he married Silvia Phillips, who survives.
Other survivors include one son, Jim Lane of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Diane Lane of Sikeston and Debby Holt of Bernin, France; one sister, Dorothy Smothers of Mount Vernon, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one son.
Friends may call today after 5 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Addison officiating.
Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
