MARBLE HILL -- Funeral service for Ulean H. James of Marble Hill will be held at 11 a.m. today at Baker Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lloyd Green will officiate, with burial in Baker Cemetery.
James, 90, died Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at Bond Nursing Care Center.
She was born Dec. 7, 1905, in Bollinger County, daughter of Greene L. and Blanche Steele Myers. She and Rosewell R. James were married April 26, 1922. He died Sept. 28, 1978.
James worked at the Lutesville Shoe Factory 50 years. She was a member of Lutesville General Baptist Church, Senior Citizens, Community Center, Daughters of the American Revolution, Bollinger County Historical Society, and was a past noble grand of Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard James of Centerville, Ga., Russell James of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Glenn Myers of Flint, Mich., Charles Myers of Cahokia, Ill.; three sisters, Blanche Reilly of Glen Allen, Irene Ross of Marble Hill, Gertrude Walker of Belleville, Ill.; five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
