Truman A. Sigman, 81, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Wayne County, Missouri, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, at the Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born July 11, 1933, in Desloge, Missouri, the son of the late Harold Edgar and Sarah Statler Sigman. On Nov. 12, 1960, he was united in marriage to Freida Rose, and she preceded him in death July 22, 2014.
Truman was a veteran and had worked as a dock hand for Arkansas Best Freight trucking company.
He was converted at an early age and was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church in Silva, Missouri. His hobbies included reading, fishing, hunting and eating. He also enjoyed watching the Cardinals.
Survivors include one son, Kevin, and wife Kristen Sigman of Chaffee, Missouri; one daughter, Trudy Sigman of Webster Groves, Missouri; four grandchildren, John Potocnjak, Sarah and husband Derrick Reed, Ellie Sigman and Emma Sigman; brother and sisters-in-law; nieces; and nephews.
The funeral was Thursday at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville, Missouri, with the Rev. Johnny Gibson officiating. Pallbearers were Scotty Vanmater, Kurt Cook, Lee Wills, Derrick Reed, John Potocnjah and Michael Fatchett. Burial with military honors was in New Liberty Cemetery in Piedmont, Missouri.
