SCOTT CITY, Mo. -- Funeral for Truman J. Baker of Scott City will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. Larry Lawman will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Baker, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 14, 1912, at Drum, Mo., son of William Henry and Mary Florence Moore Baker. He and Veva Lee Lancaster were married Aug. 5, 1934, at Ancell, Mo. She died May 24, 1999.
Baker was a conductor with Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a member of United Transportation Union, and H.O. Grauel Masonic Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Truman L. Baker of Scott City, Charles Baker of Aurora, Mo.; a sister, Bessie Owen of Scott City; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
