ANNA, Ill. -- Troy S. Winters, 79, of Anna, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Hardin County, son of George and Hattie Ledbetter Winters. He and Helen Frances Williford were married Aug. 3, 1948, in Anna. She died March 4, 1982...

ANNA, Ill. -- Troy S. Winters, 79, of Anna, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Hardin County, son of George and Hattie Ledbetter Winters. He and Helen Frances Williford were married Aug. 3, 1948, in Anna. She died March 4, 1982.

Winters retired as a correctional officer with state of Illinois. He was a member of First Baptist Church, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Winters of Anna, James Lemons of Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Arlene Rayburn of Denver, Colo., and two grandsons.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-9 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Shacklee officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Anna VFW Post 3455.
