Troy Mychal Carmona, 22, of Jackson passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2011.
Troy was born Sept. 1, 1989, in Cape Girardeau to Jody A. Jones and Leslie A. Carmona.
Troy was employed at Texas Roadhouse and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He also was a member of the Cape Girardeau Evening Optimist Basketball Team and had plans on later joining the Navy and playing basketball for the Navy team. On Dec. 5, 2004, he was baptized at Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Phylicia Cooper of Webster Groves, Mo.; his mother and father, Jody and Leslie of St. Louis; his three sisters, Jazmon DePree of St. Louis, Brittany Jones of Jackson, Aysia Jones of Jackson; his grandmother, Jackie Johnson of Jackson; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ezell Jones and James Johnson; his grandmother, Almeda Garmon, his aunts Ann Garmon McIntyre and Billie Faye Garmon; his uncle, Larry Garmon; and his cousin, Ronald Garmon.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Futrell Memorial Church, 344 S. Union Ave., Jackson, Mo., 63755.
