PERRYVILLE -- Anton T. "Tony" Wibbenmeyer, 73, of Perryville died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 25, 1925, at Apple Creek, son of Stephen T. and Regina Ponder Wibbenmeyer. He and Merle A. Emmendorfer were married June 1, 1948.
Wibbenmeyer had been a maintenance worker with Perry County Highway Department. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Doris Rehkop, Linda Wibbenmeyer and Faye Bohnert of Perryville, Diana Balsman of Jackson, Sharon West and Jane Steele of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Larry Wibbenmeyer of Ste. Genevieve and Wayne Wibbenmeyer of Perryville.
Also surviving are four sisters, Lorreta Wibbenmeyer of Perryville, Mary Christy of Festus, Philomine Laurentius of St. Ann, Jenny Schwartz of Kelso; two brothers, Theodore Wibbenmeyer of St. Charles, Valentine Wibbenmeyer of Ste. Genevieve; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters, a brother, and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. today, and Wednesday from 6:30-10:20 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7 tonight, followed by VFW and American Legion services. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
