TAMMS, Ill. -- Tony Ray Whitis Jr., 42, of Logan, Ohio, died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan.
He was born June 10, 1958, in Norman, Okla., son of Anthony Ray and Marilyn Stuart Whitis Sr. He and Linda Johnson were married Oct. 6, 1982.
Whitis was a senior at Ohio University in Athens. He was formerly of Tamms.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Micah and Jordan Whitis of Logan; mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Don Martin of Tamms; a sister, Kim Chestney of Medora, Ill.; three brothers, Jeff Whitis of Columbus, Ohio, Robbie Whitis of Dallas, Texas, Brad Martin of Cairo; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-9 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
