Louis Anthony "Tony" Maloney, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Louis Anthony "Tony" Maloney, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Oct. 8, 1952, in Portageville, Missouri, to Paul and Myrtle Gremard Maloney.

He and Cho Kwi Ae were married in Seoul, South Korea, over 30 years ago. She preceded him in death Jan. 3, 2014.

Tony proudly served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He then worked for Missouri Department of Corrections for 18 years, where he was once awarded the Correction Officer of the Year.

He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and volunteered at St. Mary's food pantry for more than 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, and was an avid rider of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Survivors include a son, Eric (Cindy) Maloney of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Barbara Johnson of Jackson and Shirley Grant of Rockford, Illinois; sister-in-law, Lois Maloney of Ellington, Missouri; and granddaughter, Lavender Sky Maloney.

Tony was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 12, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 12, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary's food pantry.
