ZALMA, Mo. -- Tom Lemons, 61, of Zalma passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Poplar Bluff Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 20, 1957, in Gipsy, Missouri, the son of William Henry and Ethel Marie Porter Lemons.
Tom grew up attending Berrong General Baptist Church. He worked for many years for Truman Lemons Farms. Early in his life, he worked in shoe factories.
He was a wonderful grandfather and mechanic. He enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Tom and Carol Myers were united for more than 25 years, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Wesley (Nadene) Lemons of Glenallen, Missouri; a daughter; Daphne (Rick) Bollinger of Zalma; three brothers, Truman Lemons of Cape Girardeau, Ivan Lemons of Zalma and Terry Lemons of Scott City; six sisters, Dottie Carver of Zalma, Shirley Chestnut of Burfordville, Ruth Hefner of McGee, Missouri, Linda Siler of Puxico, Missouri, Peggy Stepp of Arab, Missouri, and Barbara Masters of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four granddaughters, McKenzie Umfleet, Elizabeth Umfleet, Lindsey Umfleet and Areka Miles; two grandsons, Luckey Bollinger and Weston Iverson; and several nieces, nephew and other family members.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Charles, Dean and Harold Lemons.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Eric Lemons officiating. Burial will follow at Berrong Cemetery near Zalma.
In lieu of flowers, the famiy asks memorial donations to Morgan Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
