THRESIA CAVANESS

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Thresia L. Cavaness, 85, of Jonesboro, Ill., died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 8, 1915, at Reynoldsville, Ill., daughter of William and Nora Miller Smiddy. Her husband, Claude Cavaness, died in 1976.

Cavaness worked at Union County Hospital as a cook until her retirement.

Survivors include two sisters, Maggie Brown of Anna, Ill., and Lillie Bell Mayberry of Maude, Texas; and two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by two sons and five brothers.

Funeral service will be at noon Monday at Hileman & Parr funeral chapel in Jonesboro. The Rev. Mike Blue will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
