SIKESTON -- Thomas J. Taylor, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 1997, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
He was born July 13, 1916, in Bernie, son of Forrest and Nora Coats Taylor.
He married Juanita Hobbs Nov. 20, 1980.
He served in the Army in World War II, having earned two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a cab driver for Yellow Cab Co. in Sikeston before retiring.
Survivors are his wife; a stepson, James Harold Huggins of Abilene, Texas; three brothers, Lonnie Taylor and Bob Taylor, both of Wappapello, and Pete Taylor of Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Mary Lou Hare and Coleen Hada, both of Rockford, and Ruby Parks of Sikeston; and a step-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
