PERKINS -- Thomas Jefferson Smith, 90, of St. Charles died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1910, in Perkins, son of Bill and Odie Rhine Smith. He and Dorothy "Toots" Burlison were married April 27, 1935, at Benton. She died Aug. 15, 1989. He later married Jean Hanner in 1990. She died Oct. 9, 1998.
Smith retired as a brakeman with Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a member of Perkins Baptist Church and Lakeville Masonic Lodge in Bell City.
Survivors include a sister, Ruby Rogers of Scott City; a stepdaughter, Marie Duisen of St. Charles; a stepgrandson; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother and two sisters.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. Masonic service will be at 7.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Crump officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery at Perkins.
