Thomas Beverly Smith Jr., 91, of Jackson died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Christian Health Care South in Lebanon, Mo.
He was born April 9, 1912, at Lebanon, son of Thomas Beverly Sr. and Cora Myrtle Adams Smith. He and Iona Fay Kaufman were married Dec. 14, 1935. She died March 15, 1986.
Smith worked as a mechanic at the Wayne Hosiery Mill. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church. Smith installed the church sound system and oversaw the ushers at church for over 35 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Smith of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Lewis Smith of St. Roberts, Mo., and Robert Smith of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Juanita Irick and Geneva Rayl, both of Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
