Thomas J. Reynolds, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 29, 1917, in Cape Girardeau, son of Henry Joseph and Mary Catherine Donnelly Reynolds. He and Ruth Blumer were married July 9, 1940, in Cape Girardeau.
Reynolds was a letter carrier 35 years. He was a member of Old St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Post 3838, member and past local and state president of National Association of Letter Carriers, and former member of Knights of Columbus Council 1111.
He served in the U.S. Army from March 1945 to October 1946.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Mark, Daniel, Matthew, Kevin and Brian Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, Philip Reynolds of Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Patricia Proffer and Amy Reynolds of Cape Girardeau, Julia Burke of Marble Hill, Mo.; two brothers, John Reynolds of Oak Grove, Ill., Paul Reynolds of Plano, Texas; 29 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, two sons, six brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Parish prayers will be at 7.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old St. Vincent's, with the Rev. Scott Sunnenberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
