EAST PRAIRIE -- Thomas Harvey Jones, 71, of Gore Springs, Miss., died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at his home.
He was born March 2, 1926, in Columbus, Ky., son of Hubbard and Carrie Boyd Jones.
Formerly of Mississippi County, Jones was a retired farm manager. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church near Grenada, Miss., and VFW Post 4294 in Charleston. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; two sons, Gary Jones of Ocala, Fla., Steve Jones of East Prairie; four daughters, Cheryl Gibson of Decatur, Ala., Beckie Levatino and Tammy Snoddy of Memphis, Tenn., Donna Ring of St. Francisville, La.; two sisters, Virginia Wright of Midwest City, Okla., Mary Brown of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dean Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Charleston.
