Thomas Jefferson Freeman, 61, of Flat River, died Wednesday, July 7, 1993, at Desloge Health Care Center.
He was born July 29, 1931, in Ayden, N.C., son of Ernest K. and Evelyn Bloodgood Freeman. He and Betty Blackwell were married June 23, 1951, in Piggott, Ark.
Freeman was a mechanic and had worked at Pet Dairy in Norfolk, Va.; 10 years at So Good Potato Chips in St. Louis, and 14 years at Material Handling in Manchester.
He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church here, Eagles Lodge at Bonne Terre, and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 777.
Freeman lived in Cape Girardeau from 1953-78.
Survivors include four sons, Thomas Freeman Jr. of Sanger, Calif., Kenneth Freeman of Malden, James Freeman of Festus, Gary Freeman of Flat River; three daughters, Beverly Williams of Cheyenne, Wyo., Vicki Rolfi of Barnhart, Cynthia Tate of Gosnell, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Travis Latham will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
