PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Thomas Daniel Dollar, 70, of Pensacola died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at a local hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Tippah County, Miss. He was raised in Sikeston, Mo. He and Demetra Blalack were married in 1954. He graduated from Gray Ridge High School in Gray Ridge, Mo., in 1950. ...

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Thomas Daniel Dollar, 70, of Pensacola died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at a local hospital.

He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Tippah County, Miss. He was raised in Sikeston, Mo. He and Demetra Blalack were married in 1954.

He graduated from Gray Ridge High School in Gray Ridge, Mo., in 1950. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Dollar worked for the Sikeston Power Plant for 37 years, retiring in 1995 as plant manager. In 1998 he moved to Pensacola with his wife. He volunteered at West Florida Hospital, was active in the local Parkinson's disease support group and was a member of East Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dr. Mark Thomas Dollar of New York City; three daughters, Deena Jean Werner of Atlanta, Ga., Linda Diane Casey of Imperial, Mo., Cathy Lynn Noland of Pensacola; two brothers, Kermit Dollar of Fort Lauderdale, Darryl Dollar of Otis Orchard, Wash.; three sisters, Lucille Rosier of Beach Island, S.C., Dorothy McDonald of California, Janice Jones of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Spencer and Dr. James Hackney officiating.
