MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Thomas Lee Carlton, 69, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 17, 1932, son of Agabus Poplin Carlton and Floya Bernice Robins Carlton. He was a retired FAA air traffic controller at Memphis, Tenn. ...

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Thomas Lee Carlton, 69, of Marble Hill died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 17, 1932, son of Agabus Poplin Carlton and Floya Bernice Robins Carlton.

He was a retired FAA air traffic controller at Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of the Hahn's Chapel Baptist Church. He was a volunteer at the Senior Citizen Center at Marble Hill. He graduated from Chaffee High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, serving a year in the Korean War.

He and Editha Rapliza Aug. 1, 1986, at Mindano, the Philippines.

Survivors include Thomas Lee Carlton II of Mobile, Ala., and Mark Lee Carlton, of the home; a brother, Glen Carlton of Marble Hill; two sisters, Betty McDonald of Redford, Mo., and Wanda Atkins of Republic, Mich.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Huff officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill, with military honors by VFW Post 5900.
