Thomas E. "Bud" Ackman, 89, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at The Lutheran Home.
He was born April 18, 1925, in Cape Girardeau County to John M. and Maude M. Sides Ackman.
He and Mary Lucille Horrell were married July 8, 1950, at Cape Girardeau.
Bud had worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1945 until he retired in 1972. After retirement, he worked for Farrow Stave Mill in McClure, Illinois, until 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lucille Ackman of Cape Girardeau; son, Kenneth R. Ackman of Jefferson City, Missouri; daughters, Marilyn S. Probst of Cape Girardeau and Janet M. Savage of Artesia, New Mexico; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; five sisters; a son, David M. Ackman; and a grandson, Jeffrey M. Probst.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
