Graveside service for Thomas M. Broach of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. today at Goshen United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stella, Ky. Jeff Williams will officiate.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Broach, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997.

He was born June 2, 1921, in Coldwater, Ky., son of Marvin and Lillie Mae Cooper Broach. He first married Atlean Witherspoon June 21, 1953, in Paris, Tenn.

Broach was an independent carpenter, and lived most of his life in Calloway County, Ky. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45, received the Good Conduct Medal, and Asiatic Theatre Medal with a Bronze Star.

Survivors include three sons, Jack Broach of Louisville, Ky., Darryl Broach of Murray, Ky., Joseph Broach of Cape Girardeau; five daughters, Debbie Bates of California Hot Springs, Calif., Carolyn Schumaker of Scott City, Ruthie Broach of Yuba City, Calif., Mary Bailey of Cape Girardeau, Elizabeth Broach of Murray; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
