Shortly after they were married, Tom answered his country's call, joining the U.S. Army for a three-year tour of duty, spending most of his time in Germany as a human resources clerk. Upon his discharge, they moved back to Jackson, and he joined Cracraft-Miller Furniture and Funeral Home, where he spent most of his working career. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Jackson.

Tom is survived by his wife of 69 years, Jackie; daughter, Melissa (Michael) Faucett of Mount Vernon, Missouri; son, Tom L. (Barbara) Boudinot of St. Peters, Missouri; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nadine (late Billy) Hudgens and Delinda (late Joe) Marling; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Oct. 30 at First Baptist Church of Jackson. Interment will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to the missions or library funds at First Baptist Church.

Hutchings Funeral Chapel of Marble Hill, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
