Thelvan Franklin Rickard, 87, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 17, 1910, at Cape Girardeau, son of Thomas I. and Ada Bratton Rickard.
He was a retired contractor, bricklayer and engineer, and he was a member of Bricklayers Local 1 in Virginia. He attended Southeast Missouri State University.
He served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
He is survived by a son, Stephan G. Rickard of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Mary Libla of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Jack Rickard of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Dorothea Heise of Cape Girardeau and Mary McGee of Nashville, Tenn.; and a grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
There will be no visitation. Graveside rites will be Wednesday at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
