Thelma Ruby Whitworth, 61, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 24, 2000, at her home.
She was born Nov. 23, 1938, at Fredericktown, Mo., daughter of Robert Sylvester and Neomi Margaret Henderson Quinton. She and Hubert Harold Whitworth were married Feb. 28, 1952, in Pocahontas, Ark. He died Aug. 17, 1999.
Whitworth was a cake decorator at Wal-Mart and was also a baked goods demonstrator. She was a former inspector at Tri-Con, and had been a certified nurse assistant and an obstetrics technician at Farmington Community Hospital 16 years.
Survivors include a son, Harold Whitworth of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Rhonda Whitworth of Cape Girardeau, Karen Whitworth of Marble Hill, Mo.; a brother, Robert Quinton of Bonne Terre, Mo.; five sisters, Wilma Whitworth of Fredericktown, Mo., Linda Copeland of Cape Girardeau, Alma Quinton, Brenda Quinton and Glenda Quinton, all of Farmington, Mo.; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gene Gainer officiating. Burial will be in Marcus Memorial Cemetery at Fredericktown.
