Thelma Joyce Wallace, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 19, 2002, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Oct. 21, 1931, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Charlie Bass and Lucy Mae Ward Harmon, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father, Bill Harmon.
She was married to Richard G. Wallace on Oct. 17, 1948. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1989.
Wallace was a nurse's aid at Bonne Terre Nursing Home. She was a member of Third Street United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau; the Salvation Army, Ladies Circle of United Methodist Women; past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star in Bonne Terre, Mo.; Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War in Bonne Terre.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Donna Wallace and Thomas "Tom" and Debbie Wallace, all of Cape Girardeau, Herman and Ruby Wallace of Jackson and Rick and Lisa Wallace of Troy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Dan Nerren of Sand Springs, Okla., and Kay and Jim Lovelace of Troy; and 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Wallace.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel. The Rev. Janet Hopkins, Maj. Bob Gauthier and the Rev. Ray Greenlee will officiate, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery at Arbor.
