Funeral Mass for Thelma Bertrand Snerly of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. The Rev. Patrick Wissman will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 9-10:30 a.m. today.
Snerly, 91, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 1998, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was born March 2, 1907, at Clarkton, daughter of William Carroll and Birdie Belle Skaggs Henson. She first married Charles J. Bertrand June 1, 1926. He died Feb. 2, 1952. She later married Loran F. Snerly Aug. 17, 1956. He died Jan. 7, 1972.
Snerly lived in Scott City 44 years, where she owned and operated Bertrand's Beauty Shop 19 years. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1980.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church and Senior Citizens in Scott City, and American Association of Retired Persons. She had been active in PTA.
Survivors include a son, Charles Bertrand of Marshall, Texas; three daughters, Patricia Gross and LaWanna Eifert of Cape Girardeau, Charlene Vandeven of Paducah, Ky.; three sisters, Rae McGaugh, Marjorie Meystedt and Dorothy Taylor, all of Cape Girardeau; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a grandson.
