CHAFFEE -- Thelma Reed, 79, of Chaffee, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, March 24, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born June 13, 1912, at Malden, daughter of Verdict and Gracie Welch Arnold. She married Virgil Reed July 1, 1939. He preceded her in death March 14, 1956...

CHAFFEE -- Thelma Reed, 79, of Chaffee, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, March 24, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 13, 1912, at Malden, daughter of Verdict and Gracie Welch Arnold.

She married Virgil Reed July 1, 1939. He preceded her in death March 14, 1956.

She was a retired telephone solicitor for the Buell Company in St. Louis.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Brand of Cape Girardeau, Ronald Reed of St. Louis; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a great-stepgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister and brother.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Home of Chaffee was in charge of arrangements.
