Thelma Francis Points, 89, of Cape Girardeau went home to heaven to be with Jesus and her beloved husband Tuesday, May 26, 2009. She passed away at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Mo.
She was born Friday, April 2, 1920, in Lilbourn, Mo., daughter of Bill and Mary Shoate Burke. She and Gene Points were married April 27, 1968, in Cape Girardeau. He passed away Dec. 8, 1996.
She was employed by Parisian Dry Cleaners and later became part owner with her husband. She was a member of Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She was of the Assembly of God belief.
Survivors include a son, Larry Points of Baltimore; a brother, John Burke of Houston; a sister, Eunice Seabaugh of Dallas; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park, with Robert Poe officiating.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
