SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Thelma L. Black of Sikeston will be held at 11 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Revs. Jim Guffie and Charles Buck will officiate, with burial in a Sikeston cemetery.
Information provided to the Southeast Missourian gave the wrong day for the funeral.
Black, 70, died Thursday, April 13, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Dyersburg, Tenn., daughter of Tull G. and Lucy O. Arnold Johnson. She married Don Black Nov. 13, 1949, in Sikeston.
Black was an operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company 11 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston and its King's Daughters Bible School Class.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Philip Black of Sikeston; a daughter, Karen Mathes of Leawood, Kan.; a sister, Jackie Green of Sikeston, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
