PERRYVILLE - Thelma Kitchen, 94, of Perryville, died Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.
She was born in Perry County on Nov. 3, 1899, to Francis M. and Sara E. Tucker Bass.
She married Jess Kitchen, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Elder of Perryville and Stella Rieser of St. Louis; two sisters, Stella Brewer of Perryville and Frances Boxdorfer of Chester, Ill. Eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren also survive.
Kitchen was preceded in death by one son.
She was a seamstress in the garment industry, and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Perryville, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary in St. Louis.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville from 5 - 9 p.m., Monday, and from 6:30 - 9:45 a.m., Tuesday.
Parish prayers will be recited Monday, at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
The funeral mass will be held Tuesday, at 10 a.m., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Edward Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
