BLOOMFIELD -- Thelma Alberta Harper, 96, of Bloomfield died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Beverly Health Care Center.

She was born July 31, 1903, at Gray Ridge, daughter of Joseph and Lida Clark Alsup. She and Reuben Harper were married in 1921. He died in 1961.

Harper worked at Baptist Hospital in St. Louis several years. She lived in the Bloomfield community most of her life, and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Don Harper of Bloomfield, Joe Harper of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Virginia Grant of San Antonio, Texas, Linda Metzner of Medford, Wis.; three sisters, Bertha Farmer of Bloomfield, Colleen Miller of Sikeston, Maxine Neubert of Englewood, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Greason officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery at Idalia.
