Thelma Jean Chamberlain, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Jan. 14, 2011, at her home. Born Jan. 1, 1918, in Shannon County, Mo., she was the daughter of Elmer Allen and Lucy Conway Camden. She married Robert E. Chamberlain Jr. in 1947. He preceded her in death in November 1990. Before retirement, she worked in sales and as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper...

Thelma Jean Chamberlain, 93, of Cape Girardeau passed away Jan. 14, 2011, at her home.

Born Jan. 1, 1918, in Shannon County, Mo., she was the daughter of Elmer Allen and Lucy Conway Camden. She married Robert E. Chamberlain Jr. in 1947. He preceded her in death in November 1990. Before retirement, she worked in sales and as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper.

Survivors include her son, Charles (Helen) Sweeney of Burfordville, Mo.; three grandchildren: Rhonda (Robert) Hohmann of Colleyville, Tex., Gloria Krueger of Jackson, Mo., and John D. Sweeney of Marble Hill, Mo.; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with John Sweeney officiating.

Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
