Thelma C. Shearer, 81, of Nicholasville, Ky., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 1995, at Hunter Acres Nursing Home in Sikeston. She was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Jessamine County, Ky., daughter of James N. and Hettie Murphy Corman. She and Jodie Shearer were married Nov. 4, 1930, in Jeffersonville, Ind. He died April 4, 1978...

Thelma C. Shearer, 81, of Nicholasville, Ky., formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 1995, at Hunter Acres Nursing Home in Sikeston.

She was born Jan. 4, 1914, in Jessamine County, Ky., daughter of James N. and Hettie Murphy Corman. She and Jodie Shearer were married Nov. 4, 1930, in Jeffersonville, Ind. He died April 4, 1978.

Shearer was a member of Camp Nelson Baptist Church in Nicholasville.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Teater Licare of Cape Girardeau, Doris DeLoach of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Guyn-Kurtz-Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home in Nicholasville from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be Friday at Memorial Gardens in Lexington, Ky.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.
