Funeral service for Thelbert Watson of Cape Girardeau will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Virgil Porter will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.
Watson, 86, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1910, at Morley, son of George M. and Mary Elizabeth Norman Watson. He and Willie Bethune were married Nov. 15, 1931, in Blytheville, Ark. She died Nov. 4, 1990.
Watson was an electrician with S.C. Johnson and Co. in Racine, Wis. He had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1973. He was a member of Cape Bible Chapel, Racine Lodge 18, and Cape Girardeau Lodge.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
