ST. LOUIS -- Terry Van Dewrock, 65, of St. Louis, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020. He was born April 2, 1955, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Melba Dewrock and the late Emil Dewrock.
He and Catherine Long were married Aug. 17, 1991.
Terry was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and Linn Technical College. He was a master mechanic with Toyota for most of his career.
Terry loved spending time with his wife, family and friends, and loved the yearly trips to Destin, Florida. Terry lived life to the fullest; his smile was big and genuine; he was gentle and kind; he would offer to help anyone. He was proud of a lot of things in his life, but he was most proud of being Paw Paw to his three grandchildren.
Loving survivors include his wife and best friend, Catherine "Cate" Dewrock; daughter, Britni (Archie) Hendren; and son, Boomer (Kristen) Shockley. He was Paw Paw to Finley Hendren and Hunter and Audrey Shockley; brother to Gary (Vicki) Dewrock and Donna (Brian) Gilliland; brother-in-law to Chuckie (Denise) Long; uncle to Derek (Angie) Chenoweth, Greg Chenoweth and Brooke, Ryan (Gabe) Dewrock, Darin (Penny) Dewrock, Grant Frye, and Morgan and Lindsey (Patrick) McLain; great-uncle to Caden, Gavin, Chloe, Evelyn, Ellie and Duncan.
A private ceremony was held with family and close friends.

Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro, Illinois, is in charge of arrangements.
