EAST PRAIRIE -- Memorial service for Teddy Ray of Jackson, Mich., formerly of East Prairie, will be held at 3 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Darrell Faire will officiate, with burial in IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Ray, 62 years old, died Friday, Jan. 25, 1991, at Battle Creek Community Hospital, following an extended illness.
He was born March 7, 1928, in Arkansas, son of Elmer James and Maggie Smithson Ray. He was a truck driver. Ray served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Ray; a daughter, Debbie Maddin; a sister, Alfreda Southworth, and five grandchildren, all of Jackson, Mich.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
