BURFORDVILLE -- Theodore "Ted" Bowers, 86, of Burfordville died Friday, June 6, 1997, at the Heritage Gardens Nursing Home in Jackson.
Bowers was born Feb. 25, 1911 at Neelys Landing, son of Henry and Freddie Whittaker Bowers. He and Norma M. "Johnny" Sides were married Feb. 18, 1933. She preceded him in death Aug. 5, 1996.
He lived at Burfordville all his life and was a member of the Burfordville Baptist Church. He worked at the former Jackson Handle Factory and for the Natural Pipeline of American in Marble Hill.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Crites of Phoenix, Ariz., and Nancy Cook of Burfordsville; a brother, Richard Bowers of Burfordville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call today from 5-8 p.m. today at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Morris Cobb will officiate with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.
