SYLVIA L. TOLBERT

Sylvia Lee Tolbert, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, at the Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Ruble, the daughter of George O. and Ora Alice Pender. She married John Tolbert on Dec. 7, 1964, in Jackson. He died Feb. 23, 1989.

Tolbert was a volunteer at the Salvation Army Thrift Store and the Teen Challenge Thrift Store. She also volunteered for a local veterans organization. She worked in the kitchens of various restaurants in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4-6 p.m. today.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with Harold Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Lorimier Cemetery.
