COBDEN, Ill. -- Sylvia M. Dent, 90, of Cobden, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born Oct. 16, 1905, in Pope County, daughter of Theophilus "Toddy" and Florence Climer Morse. She and James Mason Dent were married Sept. 30, 1925, in Golconda. He died March 26, 1980...

COBDEN, Ill. -- Sylvia M. Dent, 90, of Cobden, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 1995, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

She was born Oct. 16, 1905, in Pope County, daughter of Theophilus "Toddy" and Florence Climer Morse. She and James Mason Dent were married Sept. 30, 1925, in Golconda. He died March 26, 1980.

Dent was a member of the Congregational Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Catherine Patton of Eldorado; two sons, Blair Dent of Louisville, Ky., Austin Dent of Cobden; twin sisters, Freda Bryan of Elgin, Lela Downey of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters and two brothers.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
