ADVANCE, Mo. -- Sybilla L. Cresap, 97, of Advance passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in New Hamburg, Missouri, the daughter of Theon and Ida Menz Grojean. Sybilla and Marion Standfield were united in marriage and he preceded her in death. She later married H.R. "Dick" Cresap on Oct. 23, 1948, in Chaffee, Missouri, and he preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1992...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Sybilla L. Cresap, 97, of Advance passed away Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in New Hamburg, Missouri, the daughter of Theon and Ida Menz Grojean. Sybilla and Marion Standfield were united in marriage and he preceded her in death. She later married H.R. "Dick" Cresap on Oct. 23, 1948, in Chaffee, Missouri, and he preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1992.

Sybilla had owned and operated Western Auto in Advance for 40 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance and PCCW, the Wednesday Study Club and bridge club. She had been a classroom volunteer for 10 years at Advance Elementary School.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Stanfield Trigueiro of Hanford, California, Rebecca Cresap Kucera of Advance and Deborah Cresap Bollinger of Sturdivant, Missouri; a sister, Rita Stabel of Kelso, Missouri; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Renee; five sisters; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral Mass will be at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance. Father Randy Tochtrop will officiate. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Advance.
