CAIRO, Ill. -- Susie Holt, 88, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Cairo, died Friday, April 11, 1997, at the Columbia Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.

She was born Feb. 19, 1909, in Cunningham, Ky., the daughter of James D. and JoAnna Duncan Peebles. Her husband, William Earl Holt, died in 1982.

She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Cairo.

She is survived by a son, David W. Holt of Bradenton, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Zoar Baptist Church Cemetery near Cunningham.
