Susanne K. Schonhoff, 68, of Cape Girardeau was called to her heavenly home Monday, Sept. 24, 2012.
She was born Aug. 15, 1944, daughter of Edward and Onita Willer Popp.
Sue was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. God was first and foremost in her life. She had a deep love for her family. She was a former member of the Homemaker's Club and was active with Young Americans 4-H Club. She was employed many years at Schnuck's bakery, retiring in 2011.
Sue was well known and sought after for her artistic talent of cake decorating, which included cakes for weddings, birthdays, corporate events and various celebrations. As an artist and avid photographer, she loved taking pictures of her family, flowers and wildlife. Her daughter and grandchildren meant the world to her.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy (Bryan) Schwieso of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Charles "Skip" (Connie) Popp of Hampton Cove, Ala.; two grandchildren, Jessica and Hunter Baker; a niece, Allison (James) White of Helena, Ala.; and a nephew, Darin (Jessica) Dunaway of Huntsville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in New Lorimier Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
