Susan M. Blumenschein Brookhart, 27, of Sidney, Ohio, formerly of Marysville, Ohio, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a 2001 graduate of Marysville High School. Susan possessed a very caring and compassionate heart that was shown in her work as a caregiver to the elderly and as a junior volunteer with Memorial Hospital of Union County. Susan M. Blumenschein Brookhart, 27, of Sidney, Ohio, formerly of Marysville, Ohio, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a 2001 graduate of Marysville High School.

Susan possessed a very caring and compassionate heart that was shown in her work as a caregiver to the elderly and as a junior volunteer with Memorial Hospital of Union County. More than anything, she was a devoted, loving and very proud mother to her beautiful 6-year-old daughter, Skylynn.

She was born Dec. 7, 1982, in Sidney.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Wilbert H. Ruesler; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Katherine Blumenschein; and an aunt, Janet Stoffle.

Along with her daughter, Skylynn, survivors include her parents, Dudley and Charlotte Ruesler Blumenschein of Marysville; a brother, Michael (Bethany) Blumenschein and their son, Samuel, of Riverview, Fla.; maternal grandmother, Ida L. Ruesler of Jackson; aunts and uncles, Nancy (John) Howard of Marysville, Marilyn (Wayne) Ferkel of St. Louis, Sharon (Bill) Laxton of Scott City, Wayne (Jae) Ruesler of Sikeston, Mo., Frank (Teresa) Stoffle of Snellville, Ga.; several great-aunts, great-uncles; and many cousins.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mannasmith Funeral Home, 621 W. 5th St., Marysville.

The Rev. John Fair will officiate the funeral at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mental Health America of Union County or Union County Personal Needs Pantry or Consolidated Care in care of the funeral home.
