CAMPBELL, Mo. -- Susan Oakes Angle, 79, of Campbell died Monday, April 25, 2011, at her home.
She was born March 12, 1932, in Haleyville, Ala., daughter of William and Alice Flannigan Head. She and Walter B. Oakes were married in December 1947. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1998.
Susan retired as a machine operator from Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Rickey Cobb of Delta; six daughters, Brenda Reed and Judy Akridge of Campbell, Kay Coleson and Linda Templeton of Cape Girardeau, Alice Henderson of Olive Branch, Ill., Cathy Gaines of Cape Girardeau; two stepsons, L.G. Oakes of Bald Knob, Ark., Glenn Oakes of Osceola, Ark.; a brother, Wallace Head of Oran, Mo.; 35 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons; six sisters; two stepdaughters; and a stepson.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Darrell Coleson officiating.
Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
