Steven Lee Ward, 42, of Bernie, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Bernie. He was born Dec. 20, 1957, at Poplar Bluff, son of Thomas Lee and Melba Lee Medlin Ward. Steven Lee Ward, 42, of Bernie, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in Bernie.

He was born Dec. 20, 1957, at Poplar Bluff, son of Thomas Lee and Melba Lee Medlin Ward. He and Mary Lynn Hueckel were married Dec. 2, 1978, in the Vinson area near Parma.

Ward was a civil engineer with the Missouri Highway Transportation Department in Sikeston.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dustin Lee Ward of Bernie; his mother; and his grandmother, Kathleen Ward of Bernie.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Susan Marner-Sides will officiate, with burial in Bernie Cemetery.
