Steve Hahs, 89, of St. Louis died Thursday, Aug. 21, 1997, at his home.

He was born Nov. 24, 1907, near Oak Ridge, son of David and Josie Godwin Hahs. He and Viola M. Hitt were married in Jackson.

Hahs had worked at William R. Warner Co., and retired from Laclede Gas Co.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Phyllis Jedrzykowski and Joan Hart of St. Louis; a sister, Irene Hartle of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Hubert Hahs of High Ridge, Wilson Hahs of San Bernardino, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a sister, and six brothers.

Funeral service and burial was in St. Louis.
