Steve Golightly, 58, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at his home, with his family at his side.
He was born March 1, 1955, in Cape Girardeau, to Eugene F. and Barbara J. Finley Golightly.
Steve had worked for his father in the heating and air conditioning business in Cape Girardeau, later becoming an independent contractor, following in his father's and grandfather's footsteps. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a daughter, Cara Jane Golightly (Israel) Amerson of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Brenda (Ricky) Renfroe of Cape Girardeau; nephews, Ricky Renfroe of Tampa, Fla., and Brett Renfroe of Cape Girardeau; and an expected granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
He would like his friends to know the fish and deer have nothing to fear anymore.
