PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Stephen S. Wibbenmeyer, 64, of Perryville, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at his home.
He was born May 14, 1943, in Perryville, son of Sylvester A. and Rita Marie Glaub Wibbenmeyer. He and Lorena Stortz Wibbenmeyer were married Oct. 7, 1961.
Wibbenmeyer was the owner and operator of S&L Janitorial. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and former lector, River Hills Eagle Lodge No. 4034, Elks Lodge No. 2701, AMVETS Post No. 94, Perry County Sportsman Club, the VFW Booster Post 4282, a former Boy Scout Master of Troop 155 and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and was in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one brother, John Wibbenmeyer of Marble Hill, Mo.; four sisters, Mary Jane Combs of St. Louis, Lillian Marin of Dexter, Mo., Pat Hicks of Perryville, and Brenda Smith of Catron, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Laura Wibbenmeyer; and one brother Cyril Wibbenmeyer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Young and Sons Chapel and from 6:30 to 9:40 a.m. Tuesday with Mass at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. The AmVet wake will be at 6 p.m. today; the Elk's wake will be at 6:30 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus and parish wake will be at 7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post 4282.
