CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Stella Mae Mills, 93, of Chaffee died Friday, July 7, 2006, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 15, 1912, at Burfordville, daughter of Dean Emerson and Nola America Proctor Stone. She and J.R. Mills were married Sept. 19, 1929. He died June 5, 1988.
Mills retired as a machine operator with Sports Specialty Shoemakers Inc. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Chaffee Chapter 48 Order of Eastern Star. She moved to Chaffee in 1962 from Dewitt, Ark.
Survivors include two sons, Vivan Mills of Winfield, Mo., Gary Mills of St. Charles, Mo.; three daughters, Lawanda Oliver of Festus, Mo., Glenda Bockelman of York Spring, Pa., Brenda Hasty of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Onita Schearf of Chaffee; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
